Luca round neck sweater
Description
Completely made in France, in our workshop in Clamart, in the Paris region.
The Luca crew neck sweater is made from the same yarn as the Nitto Knitwear sweaters, using 100% extra-fine merino wool. These extra-fine fibers create a softer yarn, resulting in a softer sweater. The yarn is made in Italy, and the wool comes from Australia and New Zealand.
Its knitting is identical to the Luca sweater from the previous two years (the turtleneck and the half-zip). It is knitted in jersey stitch on a gauge 7 machine. The finished piece in size L weighs 660 grams.
The collar is round, 2.5 cm thick, which is neither too bulky to be bothersome nor too small to go unnoticed.
The seams at the armholes are typical of what’s called a "hammer sleeve" in knitwear terminology. They are sewn with a specific machine so that the two knitted panels sit delicately on top of each other.
The hammer sleeves allow the piece to avoid shoulder seams, providing a better fit. This also gives the piece a slightly loose, relaxed look due to the tapered ribbed cuffs.
